Teens Campaign for President in “The Election Game,”—A New PC Game of
Red and Blue States
Tinton Falls, NJ - January 29, 2004 - Taintor Tools for School recently announced
the release of a new pc game for teens “The Election Game”. Entertaining as well as educational, this
CD-Rom lets teens experience the thrill of making a run for the United States presidency in a mock US presidential campaign. The game begins with a challenge to teens to hire and fire
members of a winning campaign team. Next, players buy
advertising and strategize in which states to schedule a visit. And then they’re off to the weird world of politics--baby
kissing, mud slinging, and bandwagons!
A campaign bus takes players around
the country visiting key states as they gain or lose electoral votes. En route, they give speeches on issues of
their choice, respond to outrageous and sometimes silly new stories about their
past, and play the election history quiz game to bolster their poll numbers. Strategy, money management, and handling a campaign team
are key components to winning the game. (They’ll also need a bit of luck.)
Students’ skills are tested in math, reading
comprehension, critical thinking, geography, and map reading. It expands knowledge of the US electoral process and provides
opportunities to learn about public issues.
